Moneyball Pickleball Pro vs PickleballBrackets

Compare the price of running your event—and what you need to manage on tournament day. Neither the setup fee nor a list of features tells the whole story.

PickleballBrackets.com now redirects to PickleballTournaments.com. Its published amateur pricing below applies to tournaments opening registration on August 3, 2026 or later; earlier registrations can remain on legacy fees. Pro brackets have a different fee schedule. This comparison distinguishes published facts from questions you should verify with each provider.

Compare the right unit

A Moneyball Host credit covers one division, while the competitor's setup charge is per tournament. For a player paying a $20 amateur registration checkout, the published PickleballTournaments service fee is $5 + 7.99% × $20 = $6.60 after rounding; Moneyball's online platform fee is $2. This compares the stated platform fees only, not the complete event budget or processing costs.

For Moneyball, 40 entries at $20 produce $800 in gross entry fees—not profit. Venue costs, prizes, platform fees, processing, refunds and applicable taxes still need to be budgeted. See all plan prices and inclusions.

Switch with a small event first

  1. Keep an export of your existing roster, results and payment records where the old provider permits it.
  2. Import player data using the supported CSV template, and check identities, partners and registration status.
  3. Create one division with your actual scoring rules, court count and entry fee. Check the browser scorecard workflow before opening registration.
  4. Share the new event link with players. Explain which account features require signup and which QR links work in a browser.

No automatic historical-results, subscription or payment migration is promised. Handle any old-provider refunds and settlement through the original payment provider.

Questions before switching

Is Moneyball always cheaper than PickleballBrackets?

Not necessarily. Moneyball credits cover one division while PickleballTournaments charges a tournament setup fee plus its published player service and texting fees. Compare the number of divisions, player checkout amounts, registrations, payment-processing costs and messaging requirements, not just the setup price.

Can I bring my existing players when switching?

Use the previous provider's permitted roster export and Moneyball's player CSV template. Check required fields, DUPR identities, partners and paid status before opening registration. This is a roster import, not an automatic transfer of accounts, historical results, payments or subscriptions. Keep the previous provider's records for reconciliation.

Do players need to install the app to report scores?

Players can open an activity or match QR link in a browser. Browser scoring needs an internet connection to load and submit results. A Moneyball account is needed for personal account features; a browser scorecard does not require installing the app.

Can I reuse event settings instead of answering the setup questions again?

Duplicate an existing Moneyball event to reuse its settings, then review the new date, venue, courts, registration rules and entry fee before publishing. Reusing settings does not mean copying old results or payment transactions.
