1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Moneyball Pickleball Pro (the "App"), including the iOS mobile application, Android mobile application, web dashboard, player companion app, public registration pages, remote scorecards, and spectator pages, all operated by Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. ("we," "our," or "us").
By accessing or using the App in any form, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Moneyball Pickleball Pro is a comprehensive tournament management platform for pickleball events operated by Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. The App provides the following features and systems:
- Tournament creation & management — Organizers can create and manage single-day events, multi-day events with divisions, and progressive tour series.
- Pool play & bracket management — Automated pool seeding via snake-draft algorithm, round-robin scheduling, court assignment, and single-elimination or round-robin playoff bracket generation. Playoff rounds display contextual labels (Quarterfinal, Semifinal, Final, Losers Final, Grand Finals, 3rd Place Match) consistently across all notifications, scorecards, and match views.
- Player registration — Online registration via public signup pages and in-app registration flows, including singles, fixed doubles, mixed doubles, and rotating partner formats. Organizers may also add players directly from the platform's player directory; players added this way must have an existing Moneyball Pickleball Pro account so that accurate contact information (email, phone) is available for match notifications and prize payouts.
- Age group divisions — Organizers can configure age-based divisions with minimum and maximum age thresholds for eligibility gating.
- Partner matching — Fixed doubles players can search for partners, send invitations, and manage partner preferences within the App.
- DUPR integration — Players may link their DUPR account via Single Sign-On (SSO) to automatically retrieve and display ratings for pool seeding and profile display.
- Scoring & remote scorecards — Match scores are entered via the organizer dashboard or via unique QR-code-linked remote scorecards accessible by players on their mobile devices.
- Progressive tour tracking — Cumulative point standings, Grand Finals qualification tracking, per-format-group leaderboards, and Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) events across multi-stop tour series; per-stop multi-day division scheduling with day-level assignment per division. LCQ events give players a final competitive path to earn one of the remaining Grand Finals bids through head-to-head play.
- Payout management — Full end-to-end prize distribution flow. Organizers select a payment method per finishing place (Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, Stripe, Cash, or Other), then request payment handles from winners via push notification and email (email ensures all winners are reached regardless of whether they have the app installed). Winners submit their handle, organizers pay through the chosen platform, mark payments as completed, and receive player receipt confirmations. The platform facilitates communication and audit-trail tracking but does not execute, hold, or guarantee payments made through third-party apps (Venmo, Zelle, Cash App) outside the platform.
- Sponsor management — Organizers can add sponsors with names, logos, website links, tier placement, and contribution amounts, displayed on public event pages.
- Notifications — Match notifications, schedule updates, and tournament announcements delivered via push notification, email (Resend), and optional SMS (Twilio).
- Message Players (targeted broadcasts) — Organizers can send custom mid-event broadcasts to a targeted audience: all players, a specific division, hand-picked individuals, or all players scheduled for a given day. Messages are delivered via push notification and email (all organizer plans) or SMS to opted-in players (Empire tier, during active pool play or playoffs only). A live recipient count is shown before sending.
- Scheduled reminders — Organizers can configure automated pre-tournament reminders sent to registered players via email and SMS.
- Event Manager delegation — Organizers can assign co-organizers (Event Managers) who receive management access to specific events.
- Online payments — Entry fee collection through Stripe Connect on behalf of tournament organizers, with platform fees collected by Moneyball Brackets L.L.C.
- Spectator pages — Live results, standings, and bracket data accessible to anyone with the spectator link.
- Discover tab — Distance-based tournament discovery using device GPS for radius filtering.
- Cross-device sync — Organizer accounts can be synced across multiple devices using a 6-digit pairing code.
- Multi-factor authentication (MFA) — Optional TOTP-based MFA for enhanced account security.
- Event eligibility enforcement — Gender (Coed, Men's, Women's, or Mixed/All Genders for Singles — independently selectable per format; selecting both Men's and Women's for a format creates two separate gendered divisions), minimum and maximum age thresholds, DUPR rating range restrictions, combined team age (sum of both partners' ages), and combined team DUPR (sum of both partners' DUPR ratings) are validated at every registration entry point: public self-registration, organizer in-app add-player, admin CSV import, and partner invitation acceptance. Players or teams who do not meet the configured requirements are blocked with a descriptive error. Organizers can view any existing out-of-requirement players in a dedicated warning section within the Players tab and remove them as needed.
- Forfeit and withdrawal cascade — When a player is forfeited (FF) or withdraws (WD) during an active tournament, all of their unplayed matches are automatically marked accordingly, their partner (if applicable) is notified, and the next waitlisted player is automatically promoted to fill the vacated slot. FF and WD badges appear on all affected match cards in both the organizer dashboard and the player companion view.
- Court conflict prevention — The platform guarantees that no two active matches are assigned to the same court at the same time. Manual court assignment changes are validated for conflicts and surface a warning if the selected court is already in use.
- Court / Facility Cost planning — Organizers can configure court or facility rental costs as a fixed total or on a per-hour, per-court basis. The platform provides an automatic duration estimate based on tournament format, pool size, and scoring rules, with an adjustable cushion buffer. The resulting estimated cost is displayed in the Financials card as a deduction from organizer revenue. These figures are for planning purposes only and are entered by the organizer; the platform does not collect or remit facility costs on anyone's behalf.
3. User Accounts
You may need to create an account to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.
You may not share your account credentials with others or allow others to access the App using your account. Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You may optionally enable Passkeys as a password-free authentication method. Passkeys use your device's biometric sensor (Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint) or screen lock to verify your identity via the WebAuthn standard. The passkey credential (a cryptographic public key) is stored on our servers; your private key and biometric data remain exclusively on your device and are never transmitted to or accessible by Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. You can add or remove passkeys at any time from Settings → Account Security.
You may optionally enable Biometric App Lock (Face ID or Touch ID) in Account Security settings to automatically lock the App after a period of background inactivity. This is separate from passkey login — it uses the device OS to lock the app screen and does not involve any credentials stored by Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. Biometric data is processed entirely by your device's operating system and is never transmitted to or accessible by Moneyball Brackets L.L.C.
Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account at any time from the Settings screen in the App or via /data-deletion. When a deletion request is submitted:
- Your account is queued for a 14-day review period. A receipt is emailed immediately.
- On day 14, a second email is sent containing a confirmation button. Deletion is only executed after you click that confirmation button.
- You may cancel the request at any time before confirming by contacting support or replying to either email.
- Upon execution, your account credentials, profile, push tokens, and device authentication records are permanently deleted. Player registration records are anonymized — the platform unlinks them from your account but retains the underlying tournament history for organizer records.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Subscription Plans
Certain features of the App require a paid subscription managed by Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. The available tiers are:
- Player — Access to the player companion app and registration features
- Host — Tournament creation and management tools with event credit system
- Operator — Unlimited events, advanced notifications, and Twilio SMS integration
- Empire — Full platform access including progressive tours, Grand Finals, and advanced analytics
Subscription fees are processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. to charge the applicable fee to your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, as selected). Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Host Credits
Organizers on the Host plan may purchase event credits to create additional tournaments. Credits are non-refundable once consumed and are tied to the purchasing account.
Prize Payouts
The prize payout system is a communication and tracking tool built into the organizer dashboard. For non-Stripe payment methods (Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, Cash, Other), Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. facilitates the request-and-confirm workflow but does not process, hold, or guarantee the actual transfer of funds. The organizer is solely responsible for completing payment to the winner through the chosen external platform. Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. is not liable for non-payment, delayed payment, incorrect amounts, or disputes arising from prize payouts.
Player payment handles (Venmo usernames, Zelle phone/email, Cash App tags) submitted through the payout flow are one-time-use and are never saved to a player's permanent profile. They are stored only on the specific payout record.
Tournament Entry Fees & Stripe Connect
Entry fees paid by players are processed through Stripe Connect as destination charges. This means the payment is first processed by Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. and then routed to the tournament organizer's connected Stripe Express account, net of the platform application fee. Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. acts as the merchant of record for Stripe Connect purposes and retains its platform fee before disbursing the remainder to the organizer. Refund policies for entry fees are set by individual tournament organizers and are not controlled by Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. Contact the organizer directly for refund requests.
Platform Fees
Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. collects a per-player platform fee on registrations processed through the App. For online payments, this fee is applied automatically as a Stripe application fee at the time of payment. For in-person or cash-based events, organizers are required to submit platform fees after the event through the organizer dashboard. Platform fee amounts are disclosed in the organizer's account settings and event setup flow.
Grand Finals & Wildcard Buy-In
Grand Finals participation in progressive tour series is invitation-only and governed by the qualification rules configured by the tour organizer (auto-qualify count, leaderboard standings, and wildcard buy-in settings). By submitting a wildcard buy-in application and completing payment through the App, you agree that:
- Approval of wildcard applications is not guaranteed and is at the sole discretion of the tour organizer.
- Wildcard applications that are rejected by the organizer result in an automatic full refund to the original payment method via Stripe.
- Wildcard applications that are approved are non-refundable after organizer approval, except where required by applicable law.
- Declining a Grand Finals invitation — or failing to respond before the organizer's stated response deadline — constitutes forfeiture of your qualified spot, and the spot may be offered to the next player on the leaderboard via roll-down.
- Players with zero recorded points in a division on the tour leaderboard are ineligible for wildcard buy-in for that division, regardless of other settings configured by the organizer.
- Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. is not a party to disputes between players and organizers regarding qualification thresholds, invitation decisions, or approval/rejection of wildcard applications. Contact the tour organizer directly for any such disputes.
- Auto-qualified players (those who receive a formal invitation based on leaderboard standing) do not pay an additional entry fee — their tour participation covers Grand Finals registration.
- Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) events, when enabled by the organizer on a tour stop, allow players to compete for a set number of remaining Grand Finals bids. Entry is subject to the LCQ bid count and prize purse configured by the organizer. Players who finish in a qualifying position at an LCQ earn direct entry into the Grand Finals. Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. is not responsible for disputes regarding LCQ finishing positions or the number of bids awarded — these are governed by the tour organizer's configuration.

Consent Not Required
SMS opt-in is completely voluntary. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services, registering for any tournament, or using any feature of the App. All App features are fully accessible without SMS opt-in.
6. Push Notifications & Email Notifications
The App may request permission to send push notifications to your device for match alerts, court assignments, score updates, tournament announcements, partner invitations, and prize payout requests. Push notification permission is always optional and can be revoked at any time through your device's system settings or within the App. Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. does not send marketing or promotional push notifications without your consent.
In addition to push notifications, the App sends transactional emails to addresses provided during registration or account creation. Transactional emails include: registration confirmations, match notifications, partner invitation alerts, and prize payout requests. These emails are operational in nature and are sent to ensure all users receive important tournament-related communications regardless of whether they have the app installed. Prize payout emails are sent when an organizer initiates a payout for a finishing place you have been awarded.
Partner Invitations: If another platform user sends you a partner invitation for a Fixed Doubles event, you may receive a push notification and email informing you of the invitation regardless of your tournament notification preferences. These messages are transactional — they relate to a specific action taken by another user directed at you — and are not marketing communications. You may decline the invitation from within the App at any time. No partner invitation will register you for any event or charge you any fee without your explicit acceptance.
7. DUPR Integration
Players may optionally connect their DUPR account to the App via DUPR Single Sign-On (SSO). By connecting your DUPR account, you authorize Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. to retrieve and display your DUPR ratings (singles and doubles) within the App for pool seeding and profile purposes. Your use of DUPR is also governed by DUPR's own terms of service and privacy policy. Moneyball Brackets L.L.C. is not responsible for changes to DUPR's services, data accuracy, or availability.
8. Organizer Responsibilities
Tournament organizers using the App agree to:
- Provide accurate event information to registered players
- Process refunds in accordance with the refund policy disclosed at event setup
- Pay applicable platform fees for all registrations processed through or reported to the App
- Use the App's communication tools (SMS, email, push) only to contact players who have registered for their events or who have otherwise opted in
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those governing payment processing, data protection, and SMS marketing
- Keep Twilio and Stripe credentials secure and not share them with unauthorized parties
- Ensure that any Event Managers they assign are authorized to access and manage their tournament data
- Ensure that Court / Facility Cost figures they enter are accurate to the best of their knowledge, and understand that these are planning estimates only — the platform does not verify, guarantee, or remit these costs
- Complete prize payouts to winners in a timely manner when using the payout system. The platform provides the tracking infrastructure; the organizer is solely responsible for the actual transfer of funds for non-Stripe payment methods
- Ensure that players added via CSV import or manual in-app registration meet the event's configured eligibility requirements (gender mode, age limits, DUPR range, combined team age, combined team DUPR) before adding them to an active event; the platform enforces these requirements automatically at every entry point but organizers are responsible for the accuracy of any data they provide
9. User Conduct
You agree not to use the App to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Interfere with the operation of the App or other users' experience
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or another user's account
- Use the App for any purpose other than its intended use as a pickleball tournament management platform
